TV LED Toshiba 55TL515U

The Toshiba 55TL515U remains relatively competitive in the world of LED TVs. A solid black bezel wraps around the screen, which has a hint of silver near the bottom. In this small silver band, you'll find the dual built-in 10-watt speakers, which is just about what you'd expect with any LED TV. It's quite easy to see the speakers from a seated position, which gives the TV a bit of a bulkier, blockier look. The included base does not swivel to allow alternate viewing angles, although it does match the look of the TV, for what it's worth.
The Toshiba 55TL515U features a slightly above-average refresh rate of 240Hz. You'll notice this feature primarily when you're watching fast action scenes because the higher the refresh rate, the clearer and crisper the movement in the movie will appear. This improves the experience with anything from an action film with quick cuts and car chases to nature documentaries with wide, panning landscape shots and sports games with quick refocuses and constant movement. This is a huge improvement over the 60Hz refresh rate of standard CRT TVs and older LEDs that lead to motion blur and fuzzy pictures.
The Toshiba 55TL515U is built like many high-end LED TVs on the market; its LCD screen is backed by a flat panel of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that enhance the screen's overall color and brightness. This allows the TV to brighten or dim individual pixels on the LCD screen, resulting in brighter, crisper whites and deeper blacks. We noticed a few fading and blooming issues while we were reviewing the television, but the local dimming worked well overall.
There are a total of four HDMI inputs on the Toshiba 55TL515U, which is enough to meet the needs of most consumers. If you need more than four HDMI ports, you may need to invest in an HDMI splitter or another routing device, although this isn't a common concern. You can also connect basic components to this LED TV via the basic composite and component inputs. Additionally, this TV allows you to connect memory cards (a feature we don't see on many TVs nowadays) as well as two USB devices and an Ethernet cable. Unfortunately, the lack of a composite port and the lower number of available connectors hurt this TV in our rankings.
